The Mullingar course at Belvedere next door to Bloomfield House Hotel on the outskirts of town is the work of famous Scottish designer James Braid. Although some “cosmetic” changes have been made since its creation in 1935 Mullingar is as essentially as its designer intended.
A championship challenge set in old wooded and delightful undulating parklands. Generous rolling fairways wind their paths through mature timbers. It hosts important amateur events annually in the shape of the Mullingar Scratch Cup. Visitors are very welcome. Prior arrangement required.

Originally founded in 1900, Moate Golf Club moved to its present site in 1940 as a 9-hole course. In 1993, it was extended to an 18-hole course. It is set in gently rolling parkland and presents a variety of challenges to both beginners and experienced golfers.

County Longford Golf Club is located just outside Longford on the main N4 from Dublin. Newly redesigned and officially reopened in May 2005. It was founded in 1894 and is a parkland course with mature trees. A stream comes into play at a number of holes, including the last, so you won’t be able to let your guard down until you are safely back in the clubhouse. Additional water features have also been introduced, especially at the signature hole at no. 12.
It’s a scenic place to play golf with panoramic views of Longford town and the surrounding countryside to be savoured on almost every hole of a course which measures over 6700 yards and has a par of 72. Trolley and buggy hire is available while the clubhouse has a bar, restaurant, and pool facilities.
